Preparing Future Faculty:

A National Initiative

The PFF programs are a national initiative to transform doctoral education. Beginning in 1993 with just 15 clusters at 15 institutions, under the 1993-2003 grant phases, PFF expanded to include 77 clusters at 43 separate doctoral degree-granting institutions in 2000. The map below pinpoints institutions that received funding for PFF programs in their graduate schools and/or in departments.

The History and Overview page provides a list of institutions that received funding during the grant phases. This page includes links to a description of each institution's PFF program(s). In addition, because some people may be interested in a specific discipline, a list of PFF programs by disciplinary department can be found on the PFF Programs by Discipline page.
